Chip Shortage Impact in Decline

Due to the global chip shortage, automakers have cut just over 50% of projections for 2022. AutoForcast Solutions' Vehicle production estimates only removed 13,100 vehicles this week, the lowest impact in months. The AFS forecast measures actual production against projections by region and in total.

The pinch felt ‘round the world. 11,000 of the cut vehicles were from assembly plants in Europe, with the rest in North America. The small ease is a welcomed positive turn, but the situation remains volatile.
