General Motors and Tesla

GM announced $918M to be invested in plants for gas engines and EV components. Plants in Michigan, NY, and Ohio will receive upgrades to keep the brand's ICE portfolio strong, while pushing toward its all-electric future.

Wait, but didn't you say... The company announced a plan to phase out ICE vehicles by 2035, but some of the new investments will produce 6th-generation V8 gas engines.

Did you think one-way tickets to the all-electric future grew on trees?

Tesla pushed back the delivery window of their Model 3 to Germany for a second time with a new timeframe of February-April 2023. The delay comes on the heels of news that Tesla's Berlin and Austin, TX plants were delayed by two months to meet their production forecast of 3,000 vehicles per plant per week.

Slower but still faster. Though distribution has been slower than expected, Tesla's delivery times are still far ahead of their competitors like Volkswagen, who can have wait times of up to 18 months.
