Ford's Preemptive Strive Against Price-Gouging

With the new all-electric F-150 Lightning heading to market soon, Ford has announced by letter to dealers they will not tolerate any form of side-dealing that could damage the trust consumers have in the brand and Dealer Body.

The Letter: "The Dealer shall avoid in every way any 'bait', deceptive, misleading, confusing, or illegal advertising or business practices", with selling "Premium early delivery" slots, access limiting ADM, additional reservations payments, and side deals being targeted specifically, the letter continues "if it is determined that your dealership is engaging in such practices, Ford Motor Company reserves the right to redirect that dealership's allocation of the F-150 Lightning for the entirety of MY 2022."

In order to offset the risk of potential pick-up scalping, Ford also offered support for a No-Sale Provision to be added to dealer closing forms so customers cannot buy, mark up, and resell the pickups when they release.
