Apple’s Trade Secrets Stolen

An ongoing investigation from 2018 into potential secret theft has led to the guilty plea of Xiaolang Zhang. The former Apple engineer left the company to work for the Chinese EV startup Guangzhou Xiaopeng Motors Technology. After his departure, the tech company determined he had AirDropped 24GB of sensitive data to his wife's laptop. He also confessed to stealing a circuit board and a server from the company's autonomous vehicle lab. 

Sentencing is scheduled for November 14th and could include a maximum of 10 years in prison and up to $250k.
