CATL, the world's largest battery maker, is in the final stages of selecting a site in the US to build an EV battery plant. The Chinese company plans to support Ford and BMW EV production by placing their first US factory in South Carolina or Kentucky, where those OEMs already have assembly plants. Production will potentially begin in 2026.
