The number of bitcoin whales, wallets with over 1,000 Bitcoin, jumped nearly 5%, including the number of wallets with 100 or more also increasing 1.3%. Bitcoin valuation puts 1000 BTC at almost $50M.
It is not clear what exactly has caused the spike. Still, some speculate that the recent financial sanctions on Russia could cause a sudden spike in cryptocurrency investment as the Russian Ruble falls below 0.01 USD.
