Back in 2013, BMW and Toyota took their friendship to the next level. No, they didn't start a band; they partnered to produce green vehicle technology. The pair have collaborated on several cars and worked toward hydrogen-powered vehicle technology along the way. Now they expect to begin selling jointly-developed hydrogen vehicles as soon as 2025.
Why hydrogen? While many brands and consumers are moving toward EVs, BMW and Toyota see hydrogen as an alternative to EVs' long recharge times and supply chain shortage-prone production risks.
