Crypto Companies Spent Millions on Super Bowl Ads

The irony of paying real dollars for Crypto commercials is not lost on us. Cryptocurrency-related companies such as FTX Trading and Crypto.com were among a handful of companies seeking to buy their way into the Super Bowl spotlight this year. This was a first for the crypto industry, but what did they get for their money?

2022 Super Bowl Ad:

  • $6.5 million dollars for just the ad space, you still have to pay to make the ad.
  • 30 seconds of air time
  • An estimated 100 million U.S. Viewers
  • 4 out of every 10 viewers is in the 18-49 demographic, which is the target crypto audience.

Cryptocurrency is not the first new thing to try to break into the Super Bowl ad game. In 2000 more than a dozen "dot-com" ads ran, including E-stamp.com and Pets.com, but many others faded from public knowledge. Expectations are mixed for this new step for crypto, with some doubting they will return next year, and some preparing for the new normal this may signal.
