In a keynote, Simon Sinek spoke about the difference between a leader and a manager.
Leadership means giving away all the credit for success and taking responsibility for shortcomings. It means staying late to ensure your people know what they need to know and have what they need to have. It means practicing patience with those you are responsible for by keeping the pressure on you from becoming pressure on them.
Ultimately a leader recognizes they are no longer responsible for the customer but instead are responsible for the people who are responsible for the customer.
