Like really poorly designed boomerangs, Nissan says almost none of their EV batteries have returned for recycling. Many warranties cover 8 years or 100k miles. It seems more likely a battery will outlive its first car and go on to power a 2nd with 60-70% of its capacity remaining. This surprises many who believe recycling efforts would be a significant part of EV adoption.
