Federal Judge Struck Down CDC's Airline Mask Mandate

A Florida judge wrote Monday that the CDC exceeded its statutory authority by renewing mask mandates for air travel. The judge wrote that the word "sanitation" used in the law limits the CDC to cleaning measures and that a "mask cleans nothing." 

Reaction. Administration officials say the judge's ruling means the TSA should stop enforcing mask mandates. Some seek to appeal the ruling, but many expect confusion in the short term, no matter the eventual outcome.
