Ford Makes Several Changes

Just a few months after price hikes up to $8,000, Ford is cutting the price of its flagship EV, the Mustang Mach-E, by ~$4,500. Ford says that they are staying competitive in the changing market. We imagine the market change most responsible is Tesla's recent price cuts. 

They also upped the Mach-E production target from 78K to 130K across North America and Europe. 

What else is up with y'all? Ford is considering significant changes to its dealer EV program. Responding to claims the tiered certificate program breaks franchise laws, the company may alter three specific things so that both tiers match: 

  • Offering round-the-Clock charging.
  • Marketing benefits for each tier. 
  • Allocation - doing away with the 25-unit cap for lower-tier dealers.
