Through an existing partnership between Volkswagen and Ford, seven new EVs will launch in Europe by 2024. In addition to producing 1.2 million vehicles, Ford will add a battery-assembly site in its German factory and launch a nickel cell manufacturing joint venture in Turkey.
Tag-team. Collaborations like these are becoming more common. OEMs are adjusting to the cost and supply needs of producing zero-emission vehicles with more automation. While Ford's partnership with VW will produce vehicles in Europe, Honda and GM's collaboration will produce Hondas in the US.
