FTC Extends Public Comment Period

The FTC has expanded the window for comments regarding "junk fee" rules from January 9 until February 8.

Comments from businesses and community members are being collected to help inform the commission's actions.

The 3 things listed by the FTC for consideration are:

  1. Unnecessary charges for worthless, free, or fake products or services
  2. Unavoidable charges imposed on captive consumers
  3. Surprise charges that secretly push up the purchase price
