GM Expects Nickel Supply to Last

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has the price of essential materials rising. With chip shortages already stressing auto production, many have projected the nickel shortage to add months if not years to the already long wait till normality. But GM CEO Mary Barra is confident her supply chain team has prepared well for such an event.

Despite trends, Barra expects GM to maintain its promised EV prices, such as $30K for the EV Chevy Equinox. With gas prices up by $1.30 from a year ago, she believes EVs to be the ultimate solution for the future.
