GM Invests In Battery Recycling

❓GM wants to know if you're done with that battery now? No? That's ok. They'll wait.

💰GM has invested in a partnership with Canadian battery recycling company Lithion Recycling.

🥼The undisclosed amount will finance Lithion's efforts to open its first commercial plant next year and fund joint battery processing R&D.

🏭The flagship recycling plant will process 7,500 tons a year and eventually be joined by more plants in the US, Europe, and South Korea.

👍Lithion's goal of 95% recovery will lead to cheaper battery production for GM, a 75% cut in mining emissions, and a 90% drop in water consumption.
