Mercedes-Benz: Invest, Build, Imagine

Earlier, we reported Rivian backing out of its electric van agreement with Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes seems utterly unphased by that news.

🌎💪🔋A massive push to electrify the brand's power train network by 2024 will see over $1B invested in plants across the planet. A quote by the brand's production chief, Joerg Burzer says, "There is no site that is not included."

💰🏭👩‍🏭In addition to upgrading existing plants, Benz, a name we have decided to call them, will invest $1.4B in an electric van plant in Poland. No dates or production numbers are public, but Poland's economic ministry says it will create 2,500 jobs. So if Rivian asks how they are doing, tell them, "Fine without you."

🤝☠️👨‍👧Did you know the company was initially called Daimler-Benz after its founders? When Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler passed on, Emil Jellinek joined the team and, in 1900, named their new 35 hp model "Mercedes" after his daughter. Later the name, which means "mercy," was applied to the company.

🚀👽💧In case you have discovered a way to avoid advertising, a sequel to James Cameron's movie "Avatar" is set to release soon. Mercedes is showing off a concept car drawing inspiration from the flick. The AVTR is everything you'd expect from a water sci-fi-themed EV.
