NADA President Clears The Air

Years ago, when EV tech was emerging, rumors claimed dealerships were steering customers away from the new technology in favor of more familiar ICE vehicles. Dealers denied the accusation by reminding folks they were happy to sell what sells, and EVs of the time were not capturing the public's interest.

Fast-forward. Interest in and sales of EVs have become commonplace as start-ups and legacy OEMs enter the market with fully electric options. NADA President Mike Stanton said, "Dealers are excited; they are all-in with EVs." At the same J.D. Power Auto Summit event, Olabisi Boyle with Hyundai Motor North America said, "We can't make this journey without dealers," and urged dealers to prepare for the changes EV sales will require to their process. Stanton added when speaking on adapting to the changing industry, "We've always done it."

Automaker Ford has even announced an “Electric University” to train dealers for the world of EVs.

Telling it like it is - We feel confident the industry that adapted from the Model T till now will be able to get its arms around anything that comes its way.
