New York Follows California’s 2035 Zero Emission Push

New York has followed California's decision to ban new ICE vehicle sales as of 2035. According to Gov Kathy Hochul, the state has its own zero-emission goals and benchmarks but had to wait for California due to rules at the federal levels, but "that's the only time we're letting them go first." A strangely ominous statement we completely believe

California does hold a unique position in state-level emission rule setting. The state's waiver to set stricter rules than the EPA regarding emissions sets precedents for other states to adopt, but only after California's decision is complete.
