The American workforce has been transformed by the "Great Resignation" with job conditions and wages becoming more competitive to attract workers. As employers call remote employees back into the office many are reevaluating their priorities in the job market. As of December 2021 there were 58 unemployed workers for every 100 jobs, creating an excess of positions.
An end in sight? Economists say it is not possible to predict whether wage pressure and high job mobility will persist throughout 2022 and beyond the pandemic. Some predict the March 1st return-to-office date may accelerate the Great Resignation as employed workers negotiate for higher wages with companies offering greater flexibility.
Telling it like it is - Back in our day the only remote working was getting up to change the channel for your parents.
