The world is more connected than ever. The internet gives us instant access to information from any part of the globe, and robust transportation infrastructures deliver goods and materials within days. Sharing such advantages means we share challenges. Recent lockdowns in Shanghai, China, have OMEs making tough decisions. Tesla, Aptiv, and Toyota have slowed or stopped production, while GM and Volkswagen remain open and "unaffected by the outbreak." 

Closed-loop. GM's plan to comply with China's "zero-COVID" strategy is close to the  government’s suggestion for businesses during the lockdown. The plan has each workplace becoming a bubble-like environment. Workers sleep, live, and work isolated to prevent the virus from spreading.

Each company hopes to avoid additional supply disruptions. The various methods may set a tone for possible future lockdowns.
