Mullinax Ford of Olympia Sales Manager, Juan Rodriguez, had just moved his family into a new home, a commonly stressful and expensive task for even the most prepared of movers when UPS driver Chris Rovito arrived to deliver a set of bunk beds. But what started as a relatively routine day soon became a realized opportunity to make our world a brighter place.
As the two men spoke about their families, Rovito shared the story of his two-year-old daughter, Lawsyn, who had the rare kidney disease, Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis(FSGS), and how he and his wife's experience with caring for their daughter in this time led to the founding of Lewis County Renal Alliance(LCRA), an organization dedicated to helping families in similar situations.
Rodriguez knew he had to help.
In addition to a direct donation to the organization, Juan went to his GM, Zach Dodge, and together they lead the team in giving generously to LCRA, totaling at the time of writing $13,250 in cash donations to the program with additional financial support coming in inspired by the Mullinax outpouring.
Telling it like it is - Hats off to Juan and his team! We are proud to have folks like you in this community. Just another way the automotive industry is truly where the “rubber meets the road!”
