SoftBank's tech division, Z Holdings, plans to launch an NFT marketplace this year to meet its revenue targets. The NFT mall could launch as early as spring and be available in 180 countries. Co-CEO Kentaro Kawabe says the company cannot miss out on the opportunity web3 provides.
More more more. The announcement is not SoftBank's first step into the web3 space. In November, they led a $93M funding round for The Sandbox, a blockchain gaming platform, while also investing #150M in a South Korean metaverse platform called Zepeto.
