Self-Driving tech has driven one California man to the unthinkable- running for office. Software company engineer and CEO Dan O'Dowd is running for office to keep full self-driving software beta testing off public roads. The campaign distinguishes between Autopilot and FSD, saying the experimental FSD software gives too much control to the computer without the driver's input.
The world's largest casting machine is coming to Tesla to produce Cybertruck bodies. Called the Giga Press, the device upgrades upon its 2020 predecessor. The machine will fulfill a previous announcement by Tesla that the Cybertruck will be built using a cast stainless-steel exoskeleton. Production should start in 2023.
Everybody's favorite time machine, the DeLorean, is returning as an EV. Some say the iconic car's Texas-based resurrection is a stylistic competitor for Tesla's Model S. Others point out that the Roadster has more power. Either way, the relaunch has drawn excited comparisons to Tesla before the first DeLorean has left the plant.
