Tesla Dropped From S&P 500 ESG List

Investors use the ESG list to choose companies based on shared environmental, social, and governance values. The newest list has removed Tesla based on claims of lacking a low carbon strategy, amassed complaints regarding working conditions and racial discrimination, and mishandled investigations into injury and death involving the car's autopilot feature.

To Twitter. Musk called out the list and Tesla's exclusion as a scam, saying phony social justice warriors have weaponized it. He pointed out other companies on the list, including JPMorgan, the largest lender to the fossil-fuel industry, and Amazon, which is embroiled in labor disputes.
