Every day the headlines are easily 40% Tesla/Musk related. So here are some from the last week to keep you up to date, but not overwhelmed. Enjoy!
Breaking ground in Mexico. Reports say Tesla will announce a nearly $1B gigafactory initial investment in Mexico later this week. A plant in Nuevo Leon has been rumored since Elon Musk took a trip to the region to meet with local leaders and the US ambassador to Mexico. Initially a component factory, the total investment could reach $10B if the plant is tooled to produce an upcoming model for the brand over time. Of course, an announcement has been rumored for some time and may not come Friday, before Christmas, or this year at all.
Polls are closed. Following pressure from Tesla investors (and some Twitter users), Elon Musk created a public poll asking if he should step down as the social media giant's head. The vote was 57.5% in favor of Musk's stepping down. Tesla's stock jumped by 5% following the news of the results of the 17M participant poll. Elon has respected the results of such polls in the past. He has also spent the last few weeks creating a problematic situation for finding a replacement. People are watching closely to see what happens next.
