The Model Ys moved off the assembly line to the loving hands of their new owners. The cars were not the only things moving at the German gigafactory as Elon Musk decided to bust a move for the occasion. The time between the first mention of a German factory to the first cars rolling off the line was less than two years. Earlier this month, Tesla received final approvals to begin assembly in the gigafactory.

All these cars and nowhere to drive. While Musk and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz see the factory as a push toward sustainability, some environmental advocates are against the plant. A protest held in the motorway near the factory held traffic for hours after the event.
