A consortium led by Volkswagen Group is nearing approval for a $3B bid for French car rental company Europcar. The deal will increase VW's presence in the lucrative mobility service sector. The EU has to approve the takeover per antitrust laws, but people close to the matter say the deal will go through.
Europcar. The car rental company has a presence in 140 countries and a fleet of over 350,000 vehicles. VW will earn revenue from rentals, but also want to acquire more car and consumer data.
