So having an easy-to-use app or site has become paramount as retailers try to lock down customers. 

Please don't touch my stuff ever again. Walmart has accused rival BJ's Wholesale Club of stealing their self-checkout technology. The Scan & Go technology used by Walmart and its big-box subsidiary, Sam's Club, gained popularity when social distancing was adopted by shoppers. Walmart claims the self-checkout feature on BJ's Wholesale Club's app is identical to its own and that the rival company took innovations without permissions.
