And and no, and there's like somebody from like sales fixed ups, right. Porter like we have the whole the host. This is very lag this year is a five times salesperson of the year. This is getting ridiculous. They can they can they can pull a hat trick every third Saturday. You know, it's like, it'd be perfect. And we have we have like, we have to have we have to be able to curate the state song. Yes, but there's no official song. No, we're gonna curate that. Yeah, it's like we already know what Michigan State song is. Right? Anything Eminem?

you from from Louisiana.

Paul J Daly: 4:40

Oh my gosh. Straight Kelly Clarkson playing for days.

Kyle Mountsier: 4:44

You know Taylor Swift. She's from here. So all

Paul J Daly: 4:47

right. We need to go meet with the ASOTU production team right away right away. Oh, five minutes in. We're sideways. Oh, Friday. Everybody. Welcome to Friday on the first day of March. Let's talk about a little news. Okay. Here US auto dealers are torn over Hyundai's partnership with Amazon fearing a shift towards a test like sales model, a majority of dealers in a recent survey, the 2024 Automotive News dealer Outlook Survey, basically viewed the program negatively predicting a move away from the traditional model Amazon is aiming to redefine like this click to buy experience and dealers are worrying about the impact. Here's a quote many dealers believe what Hyundai and Amazon are co developing will lead to a more direct to consumer sales model capturing the apprehension towards that that direction. Here's a quote directly from Wait, is this the one? Yes, directly from the automotive news article. So I'm reading this verbatim Amazon and Hyundai are testing the model using 18. Dealers in major markets, including la Atlanta, Seattle, New York and Denver. Amazon is using its own employees as beta site guinea pigs this month. The automaker said it made it your smell on the platform at 2024. Santa Fe to a Seattle based Amazon worker, so more than half of the dealers are like I don't like this. Yeah,

Kyle Mountsier: 6:03

but you know that. Okay, so I, I got really lucky to just like, and they can't talk a lot about it. But I met two dealers at NADA, that are actually on the program. And they're super excited about it. So there must be like some transfer of knowledge. That's not right, that when you're in the program, why those understand that are actually excited about it. And the rest of the industry is like just seeing this big announcement and fearing it. And so I would say hey, look, there's 18 dealers willing to put their name in for something that allows them some level of retail capacity that they didn't experience before. I mean, I would it's

Paul J Daly: 6:45

a vacuum right now of information, right? And that's always what happens if you don't have enough information. Your brain doesn't go you know what, I'm sure this is gonna work out great for everybody. It doesn't do that. It says, well, what's the problem, especially concerns, notably, so on the f&i side of the business? Sure,

Kyle Mountsier: 6:58

that's the biggest concern for me, I think is who gets the who gets the customer at the f&i side? Yeah, well, we

Paul J Daly: 7:05

think about how Amazon would handle like buying an aftermarket warranty or buying a service contract, it would be like, click the little dot, right, price would adjust. I mean, everybody kind of, we don't need to see it to understand how it would go. Just I think the benefit Amazon could bring a lot of good stuff into the industry. So I don't know if you're a Hyundai dealer like, like find some of the dealers I think you kind of be able to find out more than we can. Yeah. So if I can meet to walk it around at NADA, you can find out and they even told you what markets, right? So it's not too much or that Joker down. Speaking narrowing things down a segway. Fisker issued a recent warning about its future viability and it's underscoring the journey of Eevee startups it's not so smooth as its listing kind of like a going concern type morning despite the ambitious goals Fisker did we talked about this couple of weeks ago, built 10,000 vehicles in 23. Delivering only 4900 way below the 13,000 vehicle target, which we celebrated their transition to a dealership model, but the stock is taking a significant hit dropping 34% After hours under 50 cents a share. Reflecting investor skepticism. Henrik Fisker admits we recognize that Evie industry is going through a turbulent period highlighting these challenges. Meanwhile, another kind of new Evie and Trent are maybe a little more connected. I was gonna say plug I was gonna stay plugged in.

Unknown: 8:35

You know I did.

Paul J Daly: 8:37

Even combat Evie competitor Pollstar just announced this week they secured$1 billion of funding from 12 different global banks including you know, a continuation of its partnership a large shareholder which is Chinese e meet Evie maker Gilly. And so like there's really two conflicting stories are not conflicting but two different journeys pollster obviously needed the money and now they have the cash flow to operate the way to profitability Fisker just transitioning into a dealer model is saying like, hey, we really need to scale back and get very frugal. Yep. Well,

Kyle Mountsier: 9:10

here's here's what is interesting about this is Pollstar obviously has the backing of a legacy automaker and so they have the resilience the expectation of hey, they there's a better chance that they're going to make it sharing of knowledge, knowledge sharing of supply chain all that supply chain dealer network, right because there are some posts or dealers that are also you know, Legacy franchise dealers. You know, obviously Fisker is trying to press into that model. But with the like, like Heinrich said is the current turbulence in the Evie market is making it hard, I'm sure for all of these new entrants to come in. You know, I I'm still hopeful for them because they've gone directly to the dealer model. So I think it's all about right now is how do we get production and distribution happening so that We can show that the dealer model works for sales. I think that'll prove it.

Paul J Daly: 10:04

So, it as you know, we have a couple of requests out we'd love to get some Fisker dealers or vinfast. dealers to a soda Con this year have a couple of requests into Henrik Fisker in the communications department if you happen to know or have an inroad there, shoot us an email. Shoot us an email crew at a hundred.com Yeah, make an introduction be hero. We'll bring it we'll let you lead the processional of the auto dealers around you carry the ASOTU CON carry the the number one number one connector at a soda you can make your special flag speaking

Unknown: 10:40

of number one oh boy

Paul J Daly: 10:43

bailed me out on that one.

Kyle Mountsier: 10:46

Man I don't know who it was that bought it. We do know who sold it. But the a recent Tesla cybertruck was auction for get this $244,000 on Manheim just the other day, even though Tesla was really they worked with their no sale agreements to try and prevent resale profit seeking. This was a Porsche Landa? Yeah. So Porsche Orlando acquired the cybertruck. We're not really sure what the answer is on why, on whether they had someone that really wanted it, or they've already got a buyer for it, or they just wanted to throw it on the showroom so that people stopped by, which could be a massive marketing play. Seems like cyber truck owners have been flipping their vehicles for hefty sums. But this sale has demonstrated some serious incentive for early access. Hey, so

Paul J Daly: 11:42

I just looked I didn't notice this on the way in so obviously, Porsche, Porsche Orlando bought it. A seller was give me the VIN. Yep. I didn't realize that until I just was like kind of zoomed in on the on the cell screen. Yeah,

Kyle Mountsier: 11:54

I remember actually, it was the first person that I saw post about it was Todd Caputo, because he knows those guys really? Yeah. Right. And I wonder where

Paul J Daly: 12:01

they got like, I wonder if they're like the original buyer, if they like were just in the in the lottery and got it or they bought it, you know, or if they bought it and this is like the second time this thing has been flipped already. Who knows? I don't know Orlando has the right spot. Like, I'm gonna actually I'm going to be in Orlando. Hey, next week, and I'm going to, here's what I have to do. I have to find a family dinner spot. That's right next to Porsche Orlando.

Unknown: 12:25

Little mini Mike's Right. Like,

Paul J Daly: 12:27

I hide them from my wife. She's like, what's he doing? He better not be interviewing somebody on vacation. It could happen. It could happen.

Kyle Mountsier: 12:35

Yes, ma'am.

Unknown: 12:36

On your phone, you know? Right, right. It's good. It's

Paul J Daly: 12:39

like a grab mile, shoot a little b roll. We'll get it done. This like Wild Wild West. And it'll be interesting to see how long this lasts, where I cybertruck Obviously productions, though, we've heard I think it's gonna last a long time. I mean, at the rate that they're saying they're able to produce them like, it's two years before they're even through the reservation more than two years. More than two years. Yeah, four years, three or four years. So it takes four years to get a craft to Mars. So basically, if they left for Mars today, Elon sent some people, they still might not be finished delivering original cybertruck orders by the time the crafts arrive on the right, just trying to give you a frame of reference, you know, Tesla, SpaceX, all the things together. You can tell we're sideways on Monday, on Monday on March 1. Exactly. Yes. Good night. And have an exciting March 1, everybody we're gonna go right into a weekend love some people more than cars.
