Tuesday, the Senate passed a bill ending the twice-annual changing of clocks in the US. The measure is called the Sunshine Protection Act and was approved unanimously by voice vote. Before the bill goes to the President's desk, the House must also support it.
Since 2015, 30 states have introduced legislation to end changing the clocks. Reasons for the change from lawmakers seem to stem from the effect changing sleep patterns has on people and pets. While Senator Marco Rubio called the whole practice 'Stupid" and added, "Pardon the pun, but this is an idea whose time has come."
