Self-driving start-up Pony.ai says it has received the first city robotaxi license in China. The license allows pony.ai to operate 100 self-driving cars as taxis. Last year, the Toyota-backed start-up received permission for commercial operations in suburban districts, but received approval for city operations over the weekend. The company has tests ongoing in two other Chinese cities and California, with plans to expand in the next year.
