The US Sets New Fuel Standards

Following several recent moves toward "clean cars," the Biden administration has announced new fuel standards. The standards mandate an annual increase in fuel efficiency from 2024 to 2026. Milage on the average passenger car or light truck should reach an average of 49  mpg by 2026. 

CAFE updates. Since being signed into law in 1975, the Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards have reduced American oil consumption by 25%. The updates to the law will reduce US oil reliance and save roughly 200 billion gallons of fuel by 2050.
